John Kerry and Campaign For Our Country believe that it’s time for Americans to come together.
The new Democratic majority in Congress will focus on the key issues that Americans care about: access to quality, affordable health care; strengthening America’s national security and homeland defense; supporting military families and veterans; working to make our nation energy independent; creating good jobs; improving our schools and ensuring that America’s democracy works for all its citizens.
Republicans who ran Washington had lost touch with the values and priorities of the American people. They inserted the government into our private lives to score points with their conservative allies, and they crossed lines that should never be crossed to ingratiate themselves with their party’s base. While their quest to hold on to power damaged our democracy, the real problems that keep American families up at night remained unsolved – problems like health care for the 11 million uninsured children in America.
Campaign For Our Country believes it is time to:
- find the common ground to cover those 11 million children in this country living without health insurance;
- come together to fulfill our fundamental obligations to our soldiers and military families, who have sacrificed so much;
- reduce our dependence on foreign oil; and
- grow America’s middle-class so that every American has a chance to work and an opportunity to succeed.
